The event was an experience of a lifetime for many competitors to have the opportunity to travel and meet groomers from around the world. On the first day a meet and greet was hosted by the Korean Kennel Club to give competitors and judges the opportunity to get to know each other and for competitors to prepare their competition dogs. After the competition started, all competitors and judges were invited to attend the 30 Year Anniversary Celebration Dinner for the Korean Kennel Club. On the last day of the event, a farewell dinner until the next competition closed the event in a fabulous way. Everyone thanked Mr. Shin, President of the Korean Kennel Club for his outstanding hospitality and Harley,  IJA Contest Coordinator for organizing the event. Teams saluated each other for their achievements and thanked judges for their dedication and hard work to make the model dog tour the best in the world and to Vivian Nash, who had the vision and the determination to make this tour a reality!

The competition system, designed by Vivian Nash, cofounder of IJA, requires a judges from each participating country and team competitors to enter in specific categories. Competitors are also required to use the same mannequin and the same wigs furnished by the same manufacturer.

“The concept is brilliant,” says Tammy Colbert, IJA Judge, professional handler, breeder and industry speaker. “ I have competed in pure breed and creative contests for live dogs and have also judged both types of competitions and I have to say this is the most fair competition in the world. All competitors come in with the same amount of difficulty using the same type wig and are required to create the same trim style or creative category.”

Vivian Nash is a true visionary and always thinking out of the box to better the grooming industry. This championship competition tour will travel worldwide to give specialists in the art of styling the model dog the opportunity to experience this extraordinary concept presented by the International Judges Association (IJA) for Dog Grooming Competitions.
