IJA continues to lead the way in establishing guidelines for competitions and judges on an international scale.

 

In 2021 IJA will implement a system to rank judges on their expertise in grooming and styling and their experience in judging the art of bathing, grooming, and styling man's best friend by coat type.

 

The system includes training, evaluating, and ranking judges by coat types for the online and onsite competitions to assign the right judge to the right class.  For example, qualifications to judge an IJA Sanctioned National Competition is different from an IJA Sanctioned World Championship Competition.  

 

The Expertise and Experience Ranking System will be posted on the judge's bio. 

 

New Updates for 2021

In 2021 all Judges will be asked to complete the new IJA Experience and Expertise Ranking Form. A team of international judges will be appointed to oversee the new ranking system to maintain consistency in placing judges in the correct coat type classes and levels.

New judges enter Level 1 - 3 Onsite and Online Training Programs on a national level.

Experienced Judges are ranked by expertise in bathing, grooming, and styling and the number of competitions judged, and the locations. All experienced judges must complete onsite and online training programs.
