Scoring and Grading System

IJA Sanctioned Events are the only competitions that evaluate, score and rank competitors as a Novice, Master, Expert or Specialist as well as award placements, so it makes it possible for competitors to receive a grade and credit for the trim styles completed in the ring to earn their diploma.

Consistency
Nash was the first school to take the theory portion of their diploma program online, thereby creating a system that allows all students to receive the same information.

About Courses
The online courses feature group discussion and testing. After completion of the program, graduates continue to use the online virtual books as their own personal library on history, anatomy, diseases, parasites, skin disorders, first aid and CPR, pure breeds and the variations of head, ear, body, legs, feet and tail types. The online also includes everything you need to know about the salon, technical skills and styling.

On the Job Training
There are many professionals in the industry who have not had the opportunity to attend a dog grooming school and really want a diploma, but are not able to leave work for weeks at a time to attend a school. Many have been trained on the job and have the technical skills and pure breed knowledge to achieve the required trim styles to complete the practical skills portion of the diploma program.

Certification Fee is included in the $79.00 entry fee at the IJA Competitions. Total certification fee for 6 trim styles $774.

* Hand Stripped Trim Style - Can be in the free style or pure breed class.

Online Requirements for Diploma Program

Listed below are the online courses in the Dog Diploma Program. The fee for the online virtual books and online test for this course series is $360. The online virtual books are yours to keep after taking the course to start your online reference library.

Yes it can! The Universal Canine Specialist Certification System also uses the same online courses for their canine safety certification as well as coat type certification. So what does this mean? You can receive credit for the courses you take so you do not have to repeat courses and pay again for the same subjects.
