Karla Addington Smith, IJA Judge

Tamera started grooming professionally in 1996 but was born into the dog world with my mother breeding Airedale, Manchester, and Lakeland terriers. She received her education exhibiting show dogs, salon work and much later I completed IPG Master in 2008

Her 5 most prestigious or achievements in the art of bathing, grooming and styling are:

  • Competitive grooming, I would have to say in Barcelona at the world championship in the poodle class I was awarded silver in such a massive class. Secondly that same competition we were the only Australian team to ever make the podium in the team class. In 1998 I placed silver in the poodle section which was the start of my love of competing. Recent years I enjoy creative grooming winning the only Australian creative at Piaa competition.

  • Showing, I am very proud to have bred and exhibited five consecutive years of best of breed toy poodle at the Queensland Poodle Club specialty show.

  • She breed toy poodles and also bred Airedale terriers under the Foxtam prefix. Suesan exhibited and own many different breeds (gundogs, hounds, even a corgi) to Best in Show level.

She started judging a few years back for Piaa doing all classes and levels, and in 2017 she was invited to judge at three different companies competitions here in Australia. Groomquest, Pup Cup challenge and the Royal competitions for Piaa.
