Shayla Knipe is a multi-award winning all breeds stylist, renowned for her Gundogs & Terriers. She is also quite accomplished in Poodles and Bichon Frise.

With over 10 years’ experience in the industry, Shayla has exceeded all expectations of what she believed she would have achieved at this point in her career.


Her achievements have prepared and qualified her to follow her passion to teach and mentor groomers to achieve their goals and improve their confidence in and out of the ring.

Her experience and path to success in the pet industry include:

  • Shayla started as a veterinary nurse at the age of 16. 

  • She then ventured into the world of scissors and sprays when she got her first show dog- a White Standard Poodle. 

  • She then founded the first Canine Salon & Spa in North Queensland. Where she successfully brought it to the top, before she traveled and managed Australia's top salons in the country. 

She competes nationally and internationally supporting the growth of grooming competitions, she is very thankful for her major sponsors, Pure Paws and Aesculap, for their support and belief in her abilities for the past few years.


Shayla is both a breeder and shower of Wire Fox Terriers and is the proud and loving owner of a Bichon Frise and American Cocker Spaniels.

With such success in the competition ring, Shayla has set herself up for success in continuing with her passion to teach and mentor others both in and out of the ring. 

Shayla is excited to what 2017 will bring and is ready for a new role as an IJA Judge In Training.
