Regular Classes

Poodles
This class is designed for Poodles in any Poodle trim styles with shaved faces, with or without a mustache and beard. The primary skills for this class category are scissoring, thinning, clippering and snap on combs.

Terriers and More
This class is designed for pure breeds with wire coat types that typically require skills such as handstripping, carding and/or clippering on the jacket.

These skills are considered the primary technical skills required to groom and style the breeds in this class category. Scissoring and/or thinning skills would be secondary.

Sporting Breeds
This class is designed for pure breeds with sporting coat types that typically require handstripping, carding and/or clippering on the jacket. These skills are considered the primary technical skills required to groom and style the breeds in this class category. Scissoring and/or thinning skills would be secondary.

All Other Pure Breeds - Scissored
This class is designed for all other pure breeds that are not included in the other categories with coat types that typically require an array of technical skills. Carding, handstripping, clippering, scissoring and thinning skills are utilized with no specific primary skill or skills used on this group of breeds.

Salon Freestyle
This class is designed for mixed breeds and all pure breeds not groomed according to their breed standard. All technical skills are allowed. Breed profile is not considered in this class. The profile consideration is based upon the trim that is placed on the dog in reference to the structure and coat type of the individual dog.

Winners Circle
This class is designed for all dogs. All Pure breeds and all mixed breeds. Carding, handstripping, clippering, scissoring and thinning skills are utilized with no specific primary skill or skills used on this group of breeds. Breed profile is considered on pure breeds and on mixed breeds, the profile consideration is based upon the trim that is placed on the dog in reference to the structure and coat type of the individual dog.

Groomer to Groomer Creative Styling
This class is designed for all dogs and the purpose is to recognize the groomer's creativity and ingenuity, as well as his or her grooming expertise. All technical skills are allowed. Typically, clippering and scissoring are the primary technical skills utilized in this unique class.

This class is designed to allow the creativity to flow. It is the first time for anything goes and no rules apply for the model dog competition. Attendees are the judges for this crazy, new and innovative model dog competition.
